Greek Orthodontic Society Awards

The Greek Orthodontic Society, in the context of promoting research activity among young colleagues, has established the following excellence awards:

    1. Greek Orthodontic Society Award for the best oral presentation at the annual Congress of the Greek Orthodontic Society and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece [€500].
    2. Greek Orthodontic Society Award for the best electronic poster [e-poster] at the annual Congress of the Greek Orthodontic Society and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece [€300].

The excellence awards are given to principal researchers who have conducted research or clinical studies in the field of Orthodontics.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION:

    1. The principal researcher must not exceed 45 years of age and must not hold an academic rank higher than Assistant Professor.
    2. Each calendar year, the principal researcher may apply for only one of the above awards and with a single entry. The research team submitting the entry may include more than one member, but only one principal researcher must be declared.
    3. The candidate announcement/presentation may pertain to any clinical and/or research topic related to Orthodontics.
    4. The oral presentation/e-poster can be presented in either Greek or English language.
    5. A prerequisite for participation in the competition is the pre-registration of the principal researcher at the Congress.
    6. The evaluation of the candidate presentations will be carried out by a Scientific Committee, selected by the Board of Directors of the Greek Orthodontic Society. The awards will be presented at the annual Congress of the Greek Orthodontic Society and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece, which is held in Athens.
    7. Each of the awards may be equally divided and awarded to two researchers for the same work, provided that the second researcher also meets the age and academic criteria of the principal researcher.
    8. If the Scientific Committee deems two candidate works of equal value, the award may be equally divided between the two corresponding Principal Researchers.
    9. The decision of the Scientific Committee is final.

Candidates for any award must submit their pre-registration to the Congress of the Greek Orthodontic Society and the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece along with their application.

The deadline for award applications is September 30, 2024.
