Lecture: The synergy of Paediatric Dentist and Orthodontist
The pediatric dentist and orthodontist have many similar professional interests as they both are treating the same patient and often at the same time. He/she intervenes on different levels such as diagnosis, prevention, oral treatments and follow-up of dental procedures during the comprehensive orthodontic treatment of these patients. Sharing information between both specialties is critical. Moreover, this integrated approach allows the use of preventive programs with maximum benefit for the oral health of young patients. Clinical cases scenarios presenting the synergistic collaboration of the pediatric dentist and
orthodontist at different levels will be discussed.
